ALIEN RACES

S'Tabaali
A diminutive race standing no more than 1.2 meters high. Broad mouths reveal a double row of teeth. Mostly carnivorous. Long tufts of course hair sprout from their scalps which is white to green in colour. Flat faces look almost comical due to their skin being blue to light green. Three fingers on each hand and an operable thumb. Very dexterous race. Smell of onions due to biology. Typically form trading houses which operate independently from S'Tabaali government - which is mostly a collection of laws and little else, everything being run by trading houses.

Angvath Sodak
Massive reptilian like bipeds standing typically two to three meters in height with long jaws and covered in scales. Three different species form the Angvath Sodak: The heavy set Sodar, resembling human crocodile hybrids, the Ang a lithe snake like biped typically only seen on rare occasions  the Vathak, a turtle like creature with a sharp bill and no shell. The Sodar are hyper aggressive and typically form the warriors and fighters of the army. The Ang are cold and calculating in their tactics and are usually leaders and charismatics within society. Finally the Vathak are extremely smart, with a photographic memory. Although the Angvath Sodak Empire once flourished the extreme rituals and cultural traditions that the empire once lauded helped the Humans defeat this ancient empire. Now as an indentured workforce the Angvath Sodak have lost a lot of their traditions.

G'laad
So close to being human as to be human, except for a few exceptions... The G'laad are traditionally subterrainean and have very pallid skin, and larger eyes than humans. Those eyes are typically crytsal blue or green. The G'laad are also strict vegetarians and will not sit at a table with dead flesh. They form cells within their society and each cell has a voice within government which is a democracy lead by sixteen elders - who might not be old, merely respected. They do not engage in combat and favour non-violent resolutions to conflicts.

Skaldir
A fury race that stand about 1.5 meters high. The Skaldir might be mistaken for big predatory cats until they stand up. Looking like Jaguars from Earths ancient jungles, the Skaldir are keen hunters but have a strong sense of honour. They view other races as weak. They are also against ranged combat, seeing it as the ultimate form of cowardice, and have adopted an up-close and personal approach to combat, both in space, and on land. The High King of the Skaldir is responsible for traditional activities, whilst the Khair - or Vizier - is responsible for war. Skaldir society is rooted in a sense of honour, tradition, and society, and any Skaldir seen to be breaking these is cast out.

Ion
When the UHC encountered the Ion race the reaction was of shock and awe, and the last tenets of religion faded. The Ion are genetically 98% human. Unlike the G'laad - who appear human - the Ion are for all intents and purposes Human. The only exception being that the Ion implant such a vast array of cyborg attachments that very few appear human. Additional legs, arms, genitals, whatever the Ion individual cares for can be added. The result is that some Ion can live to hundreds of years old. It also has lead to their culture being very much an accepting one of others. Whilst the NL of the humans is a fast neural/processor interface, the Ion typically are processors with very little neural activity.

Hath
A remarkable virus that in sufficient numbers, roughly one part per thousand, becomes sentient. The virus adapts quickly to any biological host and quickly multiples until the Hath has become aware. Once it does, it consumes the hosts psyche and is 'born'. Hath were originally hunters, working alone to sped their viral code, but with the advent of technology and the new for the society to survive rather than the individual, the Hath Collective was formed. It is a ruthless society of manipulation and double-play. No Hath wants to see another virus succeed, and yet, all recognize that survive of the species is important.

Mecha
A collective term for any self aware artificial life. The Mecha were originally a form of AI made real by putting the code into robots. Now however the Mecha are an independent collective, and any machine expressing self awareness is now automatically credited as being Mecha and granted rights. The Mecha themselves are ruled over by a set of laws governing behavior and what is expected of the Mecha. Fundamentally one of the laws is the preservation of organic life.

Kray'Cha
A vast collective of several dozen intelligent insect like aliens. Each sub-race performs a specific function, whether it's telepathic communications, warriors, pilots, or food gathers. Calling themselves the Kray'Cha Ecology, they systematically attack planets and transform them into their own ecologically friendly environments. Run by an autocratic counsel the Kray'Cha are near fanatical self-less beings. They are naturally distrustful of soft-skins.

Qualrain
Another remarkable human-like race, the Qualrain are religious fanatics, worshiping Qual, the maker of their race. Ritually they scar themselves to the point that they can sometimes blind themselves or disfigure themselves to the point of not being able to operate independently but require a retinue to assist them. Qual, a living breathing entity as far as the Qualrain (children of Qual) believe, instructs them go into the stars and spread the word. The Qualrain are a caste based society, as Qual deigned to have some high than others.

Haad
A half human half G'laad hybrid that exhibits the ability to sense neurological activity within a limited distance.

Dar'hadad
Not so much a single nation as a league of tribes. Each tribe has it's own fleets, but until the war with the GAE, there was a single traditional point of origin, a homeworld. The Dar'hadad are a for lack of a better work a gas. Unlike the Hath who require a host to express sentient though, the Dar'hadad are a coalescent form of gas, capable of changing shape to suit their needs. Individuals can combine to form larger single entities, and then split apart again with ease. Each tribe is a representation of a complex reproductive system.

Yengar Tat
Officially extinct when the GAE colony ship Exrenter  encountered them the Yengar Tat were a cadaverous race with large eyes, small mouths, and a child-like (albeit starved) appearance. Rumours abound that the Yengar Tat had achieved spaceflight before the arrival of the human colony.

Vegrasoong
The most recent human-like race to be encountered the Vegrasoong are a soft-spoken race. They live in massive cities and have no sense or desire for 'natural' surroundings. Obsessed with science, a need for basic operations inspired the Vegrasoong to master cloning techniques. They are masters of genetic alteration, something that has resulted in the entire race having slightly longer fingers, sharper reflexes, and better eyesight than the average human. They have no body hair.

Clones
The Vegrasoong Clones or VC's are big, muscle bound humanoids (mostly) that are all united though a VC neural transmitter. Most have been genetically altered to be strong, fairly intelligent beings. All are sterile.

Accran
A remarkable race - very human like in appearance. They abhor technology, and favour living in in harmony with the environment. They are a physically diminutive race, standing roughly 1.6 meters high, with olive skin, and dark black hair.
